Lost one earbud? Replace the bud, not the pair
30 July 2026 · PhoneTech
Losing one earbud — or having one side die — feels like it forces a full re-purchase. It usually doesn’t. Most true-wireless earbuds are sold as three independent parts: left bud, right bud, and the charging case, and each can be replaced on its own for a fraction of the pair’s price.
How single-side replacement works
A replacement bud for your exact model pairs with your existing set the same way the original did — put both buds in the case, follow the model’s reset-and-pair steps (usually holding the case button or the buds’ touch areas), and the pair re-syncs as a set. The critical part is matching the exact model and side: a “boAt Airdopes 141, right bud” is its own specific part.
Case lost or not charging?
Same logic. The charging case is the most commonly lost piece and is sold separately too — your existing buds pair with a replacement case of the same model after a reset.
When replacing one side is NOT the answer
If both buds are years old and the batteries are fading, a single new bud will outlast its older partner and the imbalance gets annoying — at that point a new pair makes more sense. But for a lost bud or a one-side failure on an otherwise healthy set, a single part is the rational buy. Find your brand’s replacement parts — single buds, charging cases, and neckband parts, matched by brand and model.
